“The world speaks to me not in color, but in shades of grey”
Featured is a collection of photography inspired by nature, created in places that awakened the artist within
Black & White photography inspires me, seduces me, and consumes me. As an artist, approaching a subject without color allows me to step away from the ordinary and see beyond what my eyes naturally perceive. I experience the world in color, so when color is removed from my sight, something deeper begins to emerge. I start to notice line, form, texture, light, and simplicity in a way that feels entirely new.
Shapes take on new meaning and become whatever I choose to communicate through my lens. Black & White photography has endured through time as a powerful form of storytelling — documenting history, emotion, and human experience — but it is also an art form for those willing to move beyond realism and into interpretation and imagination.
Over time, I have learned to photograph by the light rather than by the subject itself. I follow the highlights, search for the shadows, and watch as shapes come alive within the frame. In those moments, I discover art in the natural world exactly where I stand. The landscape becomes more than scenery; it becomes emotion, movement, and connection.
When this happens, the artist within me feels fully alive. I become completely immersed in the experience, existing in harmony with my camera, the light, and the rhythm of nature itself.
