Lamar Valley Wildlife Photo Workshop 2025

Escape to winter and join us as we explore the Lamar Valley, the most wildlife populated area of Yellowstone National Park. Private transportation will escort you through the park to the most remote and beautiful locations. Imagine the snow covered wildlife and minimalistic landscapes.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 : JAN 12
Arrive in BZN by 1pm (Group transport will depart at 2pm)
Meet and Greet 7pm

DAYS 2 - 5 : JAN 13-16
We will explore and capture the wildlife of Lamar Valley. We depart early each morning for our best opportunity to photograph wildlife as they awaken for the winter days. Since days during the winter are short, we will stay out most of the days to photograph. We do plan for coffee breaks, restroom breaks and lunch breaks during the day.

Once we return for the evening to Gardiner, we like to dine as a group at some of the amazing restaurants in the small town of Gardiner.

DAY 6 : JAN 17
Transportation back to BZN departs our lodging at 10am. Plan your departure for after 1p.

INCLUDES

  • *LODGING (5-NIGHTS) in Gardiner, MT.

  • PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION to take us to locations throughout the Lamar Valley.

  • GROUP TRANSPORTATION roundtrip from BZN (Bozeman Airport).

  • PARK ADMISSION

  • ALL FIELD INSTRUCTION including photographing wildlife techniques and photographing winter conditions.

  • PROCESSING class during the workshop.

  • Airfare to BZN Bozeman, Montana

  • Meals
    While meals are not included in the workshop fee, we like to dine as a group to discuss the day’s events and be on hand for any questions. (Welcome dinner exception)

  • Gratuity
    While lodging is included in your workshop fee, you are responsible for gratuity paid to housekeeping (Average of $5 per day), guides, and drivers. 

  • Incidentals

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Our workshops are designed for all skill levels and involve photographing sunrise and sunsets as well as other field sessions. While workshop locations vary, you should expect to walk relative distances with your equipment. Please refer to the Fitness Level below for each workshop. Some workshops are more strenuous than others. If you have any health issues or concerns, please reach out to us prior to registration.

EXPERIENCE
INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED. BEGINNERS SHOULD HAVE A GOOD WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF CAMERA AND SETTINGS.

 

FITNESS LEVEL: MODERATE YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WALK IN SNOW WITH GEAR, AND CARRY YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT. YOU SHOULD BE IN GENERAL GOOD HEALTH.

BZN BOZEMAN, MT IS THE CLOSEST AIRPORT.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • If you need to come in a night early, we suggest the Holiday Inn & Suites at Belgrade.

  • Holiday Inn and Suites at Belgrade is located at 309 West Madison Ave. Belgrade, MT. Phone: 406-388-7100.

  • Private shuttle will transport you from BZN to our lodging in Gardiner, MT where you will be greeted.

  • What happens if you miss the shuttle? Unfortunately, there is limited transportation. You would be required to drive or taxi to Gardiner on your own.

  • Winter in Yellowstone is an incredible experience. Please arrive early in Bozeman.
