Creativity Spreads for December 9, 2020

If you missed tonights webinar, we discussed the art of abstracts. Artists such as Kandinsky, Marc Rothko and Jackson Pollack formed a pathway for modern art to view the unreal idea of art. Abstract art is very present as a medium for photography, and an important style to study and test. Consider panning, multiple exposures, natural and manmade elements. Create a puzzle that view wants to solve.

Tech Talk focused on the new upgrade to Lightroom.

Creativity Spreads September Review

We began our September meeting with a social, and it was great to talk with and see so many of our friends. Our topic for the evening was understanding the importance of color theory in art and photography.

secondar.jpg

Primary Colors: Red, Yellow and Blue
are primary colors because they cannot be made using any other colors.

6.jpg

Secondary Colors: Orange, Green and Purple
are made blending 2 primary colors together.

Tertiary Colors: are all other colors in the color wheel, and created by blending any primary and secondary colors together.

Analogous Colors: sit next to each other on the color wheel. example: autumn colors of reds, yellows and oranges.

Creative Challenge for October

  1. Create an image where one primary color is dominant.

  2. Create an image using 2 secondary colors.

  3. Create an image using analogous colors.

Here is a video of all the amazing FROZEN images submitted for September’s challenge. Excellent creative work photographers!

Webinar Rescheduled Due to Weather Impact

Hi Friends,

We are rescheduling our Creativity Spreads webinar for tonight ( September 17, 2020) because Tropical Storm Sally has decided to make in impact during the hours of our scheduled event. From experience, I can tell you that heavy rains have always knocked out power and internet here. I am also watching the backyard stream already rising within feet of the house. While we will not feel the severe impact as our friends further south, I know that reliability and weather will affect us tonight.

I have rescheduled the meeting for Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 6:30pm. We are asking you to register again with the new link below. We are trying to start the meeting early with a blank screen announcing the rescheduled webinar for those that may not get the announcement in time.

I’m sorry we have to wait, but this also gives you more time if you want to continue working on Frozen. Don’t forget to register again below, and see you next week:)
