Smoky Mountains Photo Workshop

Professional nature and travel photographer with over 25 years of experience guiding photo workshops in the Smoky Mountains and other National Parks.

Randy Wilson will guide you through the dramatic spring landscape in the Smoky Mountains. Spring brings out the best conditions in the mountains from flowing rivers and waterfalls to emerging wildlife, and of course, the Smoke that rises in the mountains.

Randy is a local NC photographer who has conducted photo workshops in The Smoky Mountains for 15 years as well as many other national parks.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 : April 12

  • 7:00p Meet & Greet in Gatlinburg, TN

DAYS 2 : April 13 - 15

  • Sunrise and Sunset Photo Sessions

  • Photo session at waterfalls and streams within the park

  • Photo Session in Cades Cove

  • Instruction in the field

DAY 6 : April 16

  • Sunrise Photo Session

  • Photo Processing Class

  • Workshop concludes at 2:00pm

INCLUDES

  • LODGING (5-NIGHTS) in Gardiner, MT

  • TRANSPORTATION to locations throughout the Lamar Valley

  • GROUP TRANSPORTATION roundtrip from BZN (Bozeman Airport)

  • ALL FIELD INSTRUCTION including photographing wildlife techniques and photographing winter conditions

  • PROCESSING class during the workshop or via Zoom at a later date

    JKPW is an Authorized Permittee of the National Park Service

  • AIRFARE to BZN Bozeman, MT

  • MEALS - While meals are not included in the workshop fee, we like to dine as a group to discuss the day’s events and be on hand for any questions. (Welcome dinner exception)

  • PARK PASS is required to enter Yellowstone

BZN - Bozeman, MT

Transfer to Gardiner, MT is from BZN. We strongly encourage you to arrive 1 day early to account for winter weather.

Transportation

Private transportation is scheduled for 2:00p to take you from BZN - Bozeman Airport (or the Holiday Inn Belgrade) to Gardiner, MT. If you miss the private transport, you will be required to taxi or drive to the hotel in Gardiner, MT

FITNESS LEVEL - MODERATE

You must be able to walk in the snow with your gear and carry your own equipment. You should be in general good health, and expect to walk on snowy and slick surfaces.
