There is something in the air in Tuscany, and something in the earth, that creates incredible experiences unlike anywhere I have ever traveled. The food, the wine, the people - they all make this yearly journey so special for all that come together to photograph.

We will stay in the heart of Tuscany in the most beautiful and photographable area of Val d'Orcia. Our lodging is in the heart of the rolling hills, just outside the gates of the medieval town of San Quirico d'Orcia. We will awake to beautiful views that will inspire us to create. Join us on this 7-day and 7-night journey as we explore and photograph under the Tuscan sky.

ITINERARY

DAY 1
Most international flights that depart from the US and Canada are over night flights with early morning arrivals. You will be transferred from your arriving flight in (FLR) Florence, Italy to your accommodation in San Quirico. The afternoon is at your leisure. You may choose to enjoy the hotel pools and sauna, or simply take a 5-minute walk to the gates of a medieval town. WELCOME DINNER at 7:00pm with a sampling of Prosecco, red and white wines, finest meats and cheeses, plus the dinner of your choice, desert (gelato or tiramisu) and finish up with a limoncello. Restaurant is on the hotel property which overlooks some of the most photographed views in the region.

DAY 2
Meet for breakfast at our hotel. We will have a short class on "CAPTURING ITALY THROUGH YOUR CAMERA". Each day, we will choose a medieval village to visit and photograph, and enjoy local cuisine. Afternoon break followed by sunset photo session.

DAY 3
Sunrise photo session followed by return to hotel for their delicious Italian breakfasts. Each day, we will choose a medieval village to visit and photograph, and enjoy local cuisine. Afternoon break followed by sunset photo session.

DAY 4
Sunrise photo session followed by return to hotel for their delicious Italian breakfasts. Today, we will visit a local Winery and enjoy a Tuscan lunch with wine tasting. We will have the afternoon to photograph the wine cellar. Afternoon break followed by sunset photo session.

DAY 5
Sunrise photo session followed by return to hotel for their delicious Italian breakfasts. Each day, we will choose a medieval village to visit and photograph, and enjoy local cuisine. Afternoon break followed by sunset photo session.

DAY 6
Sunrise photo session followed by return to hotel for their delicious Italian breakfasts. Today we will be treated to an afternoon and 5-course dinner at local friend’s Villa. After many years of traveling to Tuscany, we have become friends with the owners of the property that the movie GLADIATOR with Russell Crowe was filmed. Enjoy incredible food and wine, then take your camera and photograph and explore the beautiful landscape. Sunset photo session.

DAY 7
Sunrise photo session followed by return to hotel for their delicious Italian breakfasts. Each day, we will choose a medieval village to visit and photograph, and enjoy local cuisine. Afternoon break followed by sunset photo session.

DAY 8
Breakfast followed by transport to the Florence, Italy (FLR) airport. Please plan your departure for after 12pm.

  While the lodging fee is included in the workshop rate, it does not include housekeeping gratuities (approx. $3-$5 per day), which the participant is responsible for, as well as gratuity for our driver and local guides.

LODGING INFO*

• Workshop rate is based on shared room accommodation. If you prefer a private room, a single supplement of $1500 charge will apply.

• Spa Services - there are many spa services available at our hotel. We will provide a spa menu for you to book services in advance of our arrival. Extra spa services are not included in our rate, and can be paid on location.

• Non-photographing spouses are welcome to join on this workshop. However, since they will be taking the spot of a photographer, there will be a non-negotiable charge to cover their expenses of breakfast, Welcome Dinner, van space, airport transfers, tours and charge for 2nd person in room. Please note: this price covers our cost only. We will limit the number of spouses on this workshop to 2. Please feel free to inquire about a non-photographing spouse attending at loren@jenniferkingphoto.com
