Workshop Description
Our 2027 photo workshop is a special photography celebration - A Winter to Remember.
The best winter photography experience is to stay inside the park. Unlike companies that stay in gateway communities, we have full access to interior roads and locations from sunrise to sunset. With limited lodging inside the park, this provides our group with minimal crowds during peak photo hours, and this experience is unsurpassed. Experience Yellowstone at its finest!
We provide the highest quality service at the lowest rate possible. We believe that everyone should experience the magic of Yellowstone in winter!
Each morning we will depart before the sun comes up, and head out in search of wildlife and dramatic sunrises. We will explore and experience all corners of the park in our private snow coach. Boxed lunches are provided so we can spend the shorter winter days in the field capturing every possible landscape and animal. Bison, coyotes, and hopefully wolves will fill our frames. We will search for otters, fox and trumpeter swans. Geysers, frozen tundra and soft winter light will provide us with minimalist and dramatic landscape photo opportunities in areas throughout Yellowstone.
Photographing Winter in Yellowstone has been my favorite photo experience ever. The season is truly filled with magical moments of peacefulness and beauty unlike anywhere I have traveled. The winter experience allows us to be witness to the true survival of nature. Mixed with photography… nothing else compares!
Itinerary
DAY 1: Jan 24
2:00pm depart Bozeman (BZN) on private shuttle
6:00pm Welcome Dinner
Lodging - Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel
DAY 2:Jan 25
Depart Mammoth Hotel at 7:30am on our private snow coach and begin our photographic adventure through the park. Our luggage will be transported in a separate coach so that we have plenty of space for gear. Full day of winter photography and fun.
Lodging - Snow Lodge at Old Faithful
DAY 3: Jan 26-28
Our private snow coach will take you to areas within the park to photograph landscapes, wildlife and winter wonders. We will explore every corner of the park from Hayden Valley known for wolves, fox and otters to Grand Prismatic plus many of the areas where geysers and colorful paint pots freeze for our cameras to capture.
Lodging - Snow Lodge at Old Faithful
DAY 6: Jan 29
A full day of photography from the interior to northwest. We will check-out of Snow Lodge in the morning while your luggage is transported in a separate vehicle so there is plenty of space in our snow coach for gear and comfort.

DAY 7: Jan 30
10:00am - private shuttle from Mammoth Hot Springs to BZN

Meals (except box lunches) are not included in workshop rate. We like to dine as a group at hotel restaurants during the workshop to socialize and be on-hand for photography questions.

FITNESS LEVEL MODERATE
Winter in Yellowstone requires you to be in good health to successfully participate in this workshop. You will be walking in snow and on walkways with potential ice (we encourage crampons to prevent slipping). You must be able to carry your own equipment on trails and to photo spots.

Many photographers choose to arrive a night early in case of winter flight delays. If you choose to arrive early, please book your room at Holiday Inn Belgrade, MT. The hotel has a free shuttle from BZN.
