Creative Challenge “Silhouette”

The Silhouette: A silhouette is a photo based on shape, graphic representation and dramatic outlines. The concept is to create an image where the contour - rather than detail -  is important.

Working with silhouettes in photography teaches us that not everything has to be fully represented in a photograph for it to have a powerful visual impact. This challenge forces us to closely pay attention to composition, as shape and placement of the dark elements in your space, becomes more critical with the absence of fill light.

What visual story will you create?

Look for dramatic contrast, consider a strong graphic representation of your subject, and pay close attention to symmetry and balance between the dark and the light.
